Peanut properties and benefits: The ideal superfood for sports nutrition

Peanut is a legume that we all know and love to snack on from time to time. That's why, at JustLoading, it's one of our favorite ingredients to use in our recipes. Not only that, it's recommended for all types of diets, including the keto diet.

Moreover, experts and scientists suggest that the properties of peanuts are such that it's recommended to eat a small handful daily. Peanuts are rich in fiber, vitamins, monounsaturated fats, proteins, magnesium, and potassium. Did you know that peanuts are not a nut, but a legume?

All the health benefits of peanuts:

The Properties and benefits of peanuts for the heart

Peanuts are a legume rich in unsaturated fatty acids, healthy fats that help maintain a healthy heart (along with other factors). In fact, several studies suggest that consuming peanuts, almonds, and other nuts like walnuts can lead to:

  • A decrease in the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.
  • A decrease in the risk of conditions like diabetes.
  • A reduction in bad cholesterol (LDL), as well as an increase in good cholesterol in the body.

Consuming nuts in the form of spreads is also an excellent alternative if you want to benefit from all their properties with a different texture! Check out our peanut spreads:

Peanuts are rich in fiber:

Peanut is one of the nuts with the highest fiber content, making it excellent for stimulating intestinal transit. In case of digestive disorders or constipation, it's recommended to carry a small packet of peanuts or one of our >Natural Bars in your bag before heading to work! Always having nuts as a snack is a great idea.

They contain Vitamin E:

Peanuts are a fruit packed with Vitamin E. As a reminder, this vitamin is antioxidant, which means it helps our body fight against free radicals, responsible for the aging of our cells.

Moreover, with our almond, coconut, and date spread, you can create such interesting recipes.

What should I buy? Peanut butter or peanut powder?

What difference can there be between two products whose only ingredient is peanuts?

Both gluten-free products are rich in fiber and plant-based protein, so… why choose one over the other?

The answer is simple: what do you want to replace?

We recommend peanut powder as the ideal substitute for other flours. Since it’s made from defatted peanuts, it contains fewer calories.

Also, being a powder, it is much easier to dissolve, so you can easily add it to your drinks, enhancing their flavor and increasing the protein content.

Peanut butter is simple. Like all our spreads, it was made to be spread on any food imaginable. Crêpes, cakes, toast, cookies, fruit, smoothies...

Can children eat Peanut Butter?

There are two main reasons why it’s very important to closely monitor the introduction of peanuts and nuts into children’s diets. These are the risk of allergies and the potential choking hazard from consuming whole nuts. At JustLoading, we recommend that if you decide to introduce peanuts and nuts to your baby or child, it should be in the form of **natural nut butters**. This way, the choking risk is eliminated as the nuts are fully ground. Both peanuts and other nuts, when consumed in the form of butter (but never in "Crunchy" texture, always completely smooth), can be introduced to babies starting at 6 months of age through **Baby-Led Weaning (BLW)**. But **IMPORTANT**: Always check first that there are no allergies to legumes or nuts.
