MARÍA & MIGUEL · Just Loading’s pocket sitcom
Starring María Gómez and Miguel Iribar.
Miguel swears he doesn’t need anything. A chocolate biscuit, three forum theories and an answer for everything will do. María turns up with a backpack full of powders, tubs and capsules, and no intention of letting it go. Every episode, a new argument, and María always wins. Miguel says it was a draw. Moral: looking after yourself is less work than arguing about it.
Episode 1
Miguel leaves the gym with more questions than sore muscles. María pulls out a tub and an explanation: you’re rusty, not broken.
Episode 2
A croissant at nine, a burger at half past two, and Miguel doesn’t miss one. María eats dishes you could post on Tinder. By mid-afternoon, her patience runs out.
Episode 3
María is in a hurry and double-parked. Miguel pops into the supermarket for one thing and comes back without it. Three times, and each time with a different name.
Episode 4
Miguel swears his life has taken a 360-degree turn. María reminds him about the restaurant. He denies it, but there are witnesses and a sweetener.
Episode 5
Miguel tries something that tastes of nothing and is sure of it: this is witchcraft. He tries to fix it with a fibre-optic joke and waits for the laugh. María answers with a question: “Am I supposed to laugh?”
Episode 6
Miguel arrives last, with a Christmas shortbread in his backpack. María tells him the fable of the ant and the grasshopper. The grasshopper does not come out well.
